RAHTIS — a freight exchange for trailer and container transport in the Nordics

The business challenge

Trailer and container work is still brokered over phone calls, email and spreadsheets. The shipper does not know where the load is. The carrier hears about available work too late. The driver rings the dispatcher to ask for a gate address, and at the end of each period settlements are assembled by hand.

What we built

• A freight exchange: the shipper publishes an order, carriers respond to it
• Country-aware distribution — Finnish orders reach Finnish companies
• A WhatsApp assistant for the driver: route details, stage confirmations and questions without a phone call
• Truck-profile routing with live traffic, so arrival time is answered on request
• Gate instructions for ports and terminals within the driver’s reach
• An assistant in the shipper and carrier desks that answers only from their own company data
• Documents from the consignment note to loading photos and damage notes
• Automated invoicing and settlement: weekly reports, fortnightly periods and correct VAT handling for domestic and foreign companies

• The shipper sees where the load is without calling anyone
• The driver gets an answer from the phone instead of the dispatcher
• The carrier knows in advance which day the money arrives
• The operator sees the whole platform from one view
• Insurance and transport licences are checked before the first load

Implementation focus

What the assistant may see is decided by role, and that is built into the structure rather than written into a prompt: the company is read from the conversation, not from the request, so there is simply no field in which another company could be named. Drivers are never shown rates or payment dates. Every figure is fetched from the database by a tool — not one amount, date or address comes from the model’s memory.
